What do you see when you look at the picture to the left? Do you see an old couple or a young couple? What about the picture below? Is it of a girl in a chair or of a man’s face?
Sometimes what we see is not the same as what others see. Our point of view or understanding might be different than someone else’s. This doesn’t make either one of you right or wrong. When we take a minute to look at it from someone else’s perspective we not only see more of the picture but we also learn to view things with a more open mindset.
There is a story in 2 Kings 6 about a man who had his perspective changed. Elisha’s servant went outside one morning to find a huge army surrounding their city. He was terrified and believed that they were all going to die. He had forgotten that he was serving under a prophet of God. Elisha prayed that God would open the servants eyes to what was really there beyond the walls of the city. The servant looked again and there on the hills were fiery chariots full of heavenly warriors. Because the servants view point was altered he was able to see what God saw. There might be times when life looks like it couldn’t get any worse but that is only because we can see our lives from our point of view. We need to remember that we have an awesome God who can see all angles of the picture.
